Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm: Police are investigating the serious assault of two boys, aged 12 and 17, at the intersection of Ross River Road and Anne Street in Aitkenvale overnight.

It will be alleged a number of men of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance approached the boys around midnight, verbally abusing them before assaulting them with an unknown implement.

A bag belonging to one of the boys was stolen during the assault. Both boys sustained cuts, swelling and bruising to the face.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers or their local police station.
