Coolum Police out and about

Police were out and about in the Coolum area today talking to the community and businesses about crime prevention and any issues they are having.

Police also offered advice to business owners about security of their premises, minimising loss potential and how to avoid opportunistic theft.

As part of their crime prevention measures, police and Volunteers in Policing will continue to visit the community to discuss prevention strategies.

Police are also advising motorists to take care around the skate park as Sunshine Coast Council have started the upgrade of the park to improve its amenity and after discussions with Coolum Police OIC Senior Sergeant Hardy Wirth, SCC will implement improved security and visibility issues.

New CCTV cameras have been installed and will assist police in identifying trouble makers and issues at the skate park. The cameras already assisted police with identification of people who caused wilful damage to the construction fencing last Friday and police investigations into that matter are continuing.
