Cunnamulla Police tie up traffic

On July 13 and July 14, Police from Cunnamulla Police Station in conjunction with the Charleville Road Policing Unit, Eulo Police and Cunnamulla CIB will be running a traffic operation in the Cunnamulla area. The operation will focus on the Fatal Five: speeding; drink and drug driving; failure to wear a seat belt; driving while fatigued; and distraction and inattention.

July is one of the busiest months on the road in the division. Lots of tourist vehicles pass through due to the cooler climate and Cunnamulla’s position on a route that has proven to be popular with tourists travelling to the west, central and north areas of Queensland.

Police hope the operation will highlight the dangers of long distant driving including how important it is that you rest and revive, as well as be situationally aware at all times.
