This week saw the Australian anti-ice campaign presentations come to Winton. Guest speakers attended Winton State School to provide educational discussions with students about ice and its affects on the body, family and the community while focusing on the the anti-drug message, Not even once.
A community forum held at the Winton Shire Council Hall also provided relevant information and education to members of the Winton public about ice and its affects on the wider community.
Additionally this week, Winton Police were kept busy as the Channel Nine Today show broadcast live from Elderslie Street from 5am until 9am. The nationwide broadcast saw large crowds attend Winton to help participate in activities such as ‘dunny races’, animal demonstrations and other local attractions.
The crowd was well behaved with nil issues and were welcoming to the cast and crew.
