Chinchilla weekly round up, Monday June 5

Between May 26 and May 29 unknown persons have allegedly entered the grounds of the Chinchilla State Primary School and thrown rocks through the music block windows damaging two windows in total.

Between May 25 and May 30 a cheque has been allegedly stolen from a 60-year-old Sunnyside man while visiting Chinchilla. A cheque from this book was then allegedly presented to the Chinchilla Westpac bank on May 30 with a male person attempting to obtain $1200.00. As a result of investigations on May 31 police executed a search warrant on a Birkett Street address, resulting in a 39 year old Chinchilla male being issued a notice to appear (NTA) at Chinchilla Magistrates Court on June 21 for one count of stealing and one count of fraud.

At 10:20pm on June 1 a 58-year-old Chinchilla man was intercepted on the Warrego Highway, Chinchilla for the purpose of a roadside breath test (RBT). The man returned a positive test and was transported to Chinchilla Police Station where he was found to have a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.145%. He was subsequently issued with a NTA at the Chinchilla Magistrates Court on June 8.

On June 2 between 10am and 1pm, persons have allegedly entered a Wood Street residence before stealing a set of car keys and subsequently stealing the victim’s utility from the residence. This vehicle was later located at 2:15pm on Dudley Street abandoned.  As a result of investigations on the June 5 a 12-year-old boy will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
