Dalby attend DISCO to deliver important messages

Dalby Police Officer Constable Chris Metcalf delivered a presentation to the Downs Industry Schools Co-Op (DISCO) on Wednesday to help engage and educate local youth in the importance of safe driving practices.

Senior Constable Metcalf covered the Fatal Five which include drink driving, fatigue, distracted driving, seatbelts and speeding. Many of the attending students at DISCO hold a learners licence or provisional licence and the presentation provided a timely and appropriate reminder to youth about the importance of observing road rules.

Youth Program Training Co-Ordinator Lisa Finch thanked Constable Metcalf for his time and presentation.

“Constable Metcalf is definitely an engaging presenter and the fact that local information is shared makes the message that more important,” Lisa Finch said.

DISCO is a not for profit training organization, founded in 1997 which is aimed at preparing youth between the ages of 13-24 with skills needed to transition from school into further education, employment or training.
