Tara police news, Monday May 15

Between 2pm and 3.30pm on May 9 unknown persons have allegedly approached a vehicle in a supermarket carpark on Fry St, Tara and removed Qld registration plate 268WXR from the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact Tara Police on 4655 3200.

Tara Police are continuing patrols targeting the Fatal Five. With Road Safety Week passed, Tara Police were only called to one traffic accident during the week which was minor in nature with a trailer rolling over and no one injured.

An 18-year-old male from Roma was detected driving a vehicle on the Leichhardt Highway travelling 144 km/hr in an 100 km/hr speed zone. He was issued an infringement notice for $1,137 and his licence will be suspended.

The majority of other motorists were well behaved and police are thankful for their consideration of other road users.
