Motorists cautioned to drive carefully

On Wednesday, April 5 Blackall Police attended a remote location approximately 60 kilometres from the Blackall township.

A dual cab four-wheel drive vehicle had been involved in a rollover style accident, with the four occupants all requiring treatment from the Queensland Ambulance Service and were transported to the Blackall Hospital. No life-threatening injuries were sustained.

Blackall Police are urging motorists to take care when driving on unsealed roads which represent as an obvious risk and require drivers to employ different levels of risk assessment.

Unsealed roads quite often can encourage motor vehicles to respond differently due to the uneven terrain and more often than not simply slowing down can be an effective way to avoid a serious crash. Similarly, the correct use of all safety instruments fitted to vehicles dramatically increases the chances of motorists and their passengers arriving at their intended destination safely.
