Read (and dance) with Rocky Police

May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Queensland and throughout the month Rockhampton Police will be out working with the community to promote safety.

Today Sergeant Jo Griffin, Senior Constable Angela Bauer and Kath Baker (Relationships Australia) attended the Rockhampton Town Library¬† where they took part in a ‘Read with me’ session. Police used this opportunity to meet local community members in a safe, learning environment.

‘Read with me’ is a free program run by the Rocky Regional Council to help with child development, this is achieved through reading books, singing, playing and dancing.

Lots of fun was had by the children, parents and police with all children leaving with a purple domestic violence balloon.
