Railway Squad raises mental health awareness

Mental Health (002)

Queensland Rail has joined with the Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services to raise awareness in the form of knowledge of, and access to, specialist mental health services and advice for people struggling with mental health issues.

Staff representing a number of health services, Queensland Rail personnel and Railway Squad officers were on hand at Beenleigh Railway Station on Thursday, August 18.

We worked together to promote the availability of the 1300 MHCall service offered by Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services.

This 24/7 service puts the caller in direct contact with a range of specialists such as nurses, psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists and occupational therapists. Appropriate management of the caller can then be administered and referred.

The visit followed-on from previous visits to Ipswich, Caboolture and Loganlea Rail Stations over the past month.

It is a great initiative that we all proud to be involved with. For further information on services they can provide, please visit theĀ 1300 MH Call website here.
