Stay safe for One Night Stand, Mount Isa

On Saturday April 22, Triple J will bring One Night Stand to Mount Isa, with a line-up featuring San Cisco, Tash Sultana, The Smith Street Band, Thundamentals and Lucky Luke to open the festival.

As the community prepares themselves for the big night, Mount Isa Police will be taking a zero tolerance approach to poor behaviour.

Mount Isa Police Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Renee Hanrahan said police will be working with Triple J, event management, Mount Isa City Council, and all stakeholders to provide a safe event.

“We are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable event for everyone, and will be supported by police from across the district, specialist units, and drug detection dogs to ensure the event remains drug and alcohol free,” Senior Sergeant Hanrahan said.

The event is an all ages, drug and alcohol free festival, which will take place at Tony White Oval.

Mount Isa Police have a strict warning for anyone considering drug or alcohol use.

“Do not attend the event if you are under the influence of drugs and alcohol as management and security will refuse your entry,” Senior Sergeant Hanrahan said.
