Weekly wrap for Redcliffe, Monday July 10

Redcliffe Police are urging motorists to be alert around schools with children returning after the school holiday period. Be mindful of school zone speed signs with posted times of operation and comply with the 40km/hr speed restrictions. The enforcement of speeding and parking around schools is a focus of traffic operations within the division.

Remember to secure vehicles when parked and unattended and don’t leave valuables inside. Many reported offences are opportunistic.

Traffic

July 6: At approximately 7pm, a two vehicle traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Trilby Street and Henzell Road, Redcliffe. The intersection is controlled by a give way sign. A traffic infringement notice was issued by police at the scene after investigations.

July 8: At approximately 6.15pm, a vehicle and bicycle collided at the intersection of Ashmole Road and George Street, Redcliffe. Police are still investigating.

At  1.30pm, a bicycle rider was intercepted by police on Oxley Avenue, Woody Point.  A 55-year-old Woody Point man was arrested and charged with allegedly riding a bicycle whilst under the influence of liquor.

He will appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 12.

Burglary

July 3: A unit on Wattle Road, Rothwell was unlawfully entered. The offender/s appear to have been disturbed by the occupant. No property was stolen.

July 9: Between 4.30am and 5.15am, a dwelling on Karumba Street, Kippa Ring was entered while the occupants were asleep. The offender was disturbed.

The suspect is described as a male around 50 years of age with a moustache and beard, wearing a leather jacket and blue jeans. No property was stolen.

Between July 7 and July 9: A dwelling on Amersham Street, Kippa Ring was entered via a window. No property was stolen.

Steal from/enter motor vehicle

Between June 30 and July 1: A Holden Colorado ute was entered via a rear canopy which was left insecure. The vehicle was parked in a car park off Anzac Avenue, Kippa Ring. A scooter was stolen.

Between July 1 and July 3: A registration plate was stolen from a green Toyota Corolla sedan parked on Gynther Road, Rothwell. The registration plate was located and seized by police on July 3 on King Street, Woody Point. It was attached to another vehicle.

A 23-year-old Narangba woman was served with a notice to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on July 26 on related charges.

Between July 6 and July 7: A registration plate was stolen from a silver Subaru Forester parked in Jemma Street, Rothwell. The single registration plate, Queensland registration 110RWV, has not been recovered.

Between July 8 and July 9: A grey Ford Ranger and a Pink Toyota Yaris were entered on Hulme Street, Clontarf. The vehicles were both left insecure. Personal identification and cash were stolen from the vehicles.

Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle

July 9: A black Saab convertible with Queensland registration 795WYU was stolen from Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. The vehicle has not been recovered.
