Redcliffe officer named Southern Region FTO of the year

A/S/Sgt Mick Bindon, Inspector John Hallam, S/Con Jim McKenzie, Supt. Mick Brady, Sgt Mel Bicanic and S/Con Karina Shield at the recent FTO Award Ceremony.

Senior Constable Jim McKenzie from Redcliffe Police Station has been named Southern Region Field Training Officer of the Year for 2017.

Field Training Officers (FTOs) are an integral part of the QPS First Year Constable (FYC) Training Program. FTOs are responsible for mentoring FYCs assisting them with gaining skills to knowledge to deal with policing incidents and situations safely, efficiently and effectively.

Senior Constable McKenzie was nominated by a FYC specifically for his patience, guidance and support.

The Southern Region FTO award has been running for the past three years and Redcliffe Station have won all three awards.
