Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month – May 2017

Last Friday Marie Vella (VIP) and I attended Gympie Central Shopping Centre to show our support to Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.

Thank you to the people who came over to talk to us about some of their personal issues relating to violence – it is not an easy thing to talk about at the best of times but it is a big step in the right direction to get some advice and help on how to manage and resolve their problems.

Talking about domestic and family violence is no longer seen as taboo, it is more socially accepted to speak out and report incidents and that is exactly want we want people to do.

Be our ears and eyes and put a stop to domestic and family violence in our community and support and help those who are not strong enough to do it on their own.

Together we can make a difference.
