The Queensland Police Service has a long history of forming partnerships and working with the community on a range of matters. Recently the Surfers Paradise Police hosted a number of members of the USS Ronald Regan during their shore leave in Brisbane.
The ship is home to over 4,500 servicemen and women and after taking part in Operation Talisman Sabre, a few days of shore leave was given to a large number of the contingent.
Whilst enjoying their time away from the ship, a large number came south to enjoy the Gold Coast and a small number of command and military police staff were hosted at the Surfers Paradise Police Station.
It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and form friendships with the United States military and further strengthened partnerships with other agencies.
