Property charges, Innisfail: Investigations into a large number of recent property offences resulted in the arrest of three people by Cairns Property Crime Squad officers at Innisfail yesterday.
Police attended a Cahill Street residence around midday and located a number of people at the address. A vehicle that had been allegedly stolen from Gordonvale on Monday night was located parked nearby.
A 17-year-old former Cairns man was arrested and charged with a total of 14 offences including five counts each of burglary and unlawful use of motor vehicles, two counts of evading police and one count each of unlicensed driving and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court this morning.
A 16-year-old Innisfail girl who was located at the residence was charged with four counts of burglary, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts of trespass and one count of unlawfully entering premises.
The charges relate to offences allegedly committed at Cairns, Smithfield, Edmonton, Gordonvale and Innisfail over the last week, and investigations into the incidents are continuing.
A 42-year-old man who lives at the address was allegedly located in possession of a small quantity of cannabis and was issued with a notice to appear in the Innisfail Magistrates Court later this month to face a charge of possession of a dangerous drug.
