Under age driver, Innisfail: Police intercepted a vehicle on Leichhardt Street, Goondi Hill around 2am this morning for a roadside breath test.

When police approached the vehicle, they were surprised to find the driver to be a 14-year-old boy.

He was transported back to his home address in Innisfail where police will allege the boy was aware he was not old enough to have a drivers licence or to drive a car.

The boy will be dealt with under the provisions of The Youth Justice Act 1992.

Charges, Cardwell: Cardwell police attended a Victoria Street business around 7pm on May 6 in relation to a 31-year-old Cardwell man who was allegedly causing a disturbance at licensed premises.

The man was arrested and transported to Cardwell police station, it will be further alleged upon being processed at Cardwell police station, officers located a quantity of cannabis in the man’s possession.

The man was charged with one count each of commit public nuisance, fail to leave licensed premises and possession of a dangerous drug. The man is scheduled to appear at the Tully Magistrates Court on June 8.
