Three cars stolen, two attempted thefts, four cars broken into

Dutton Park Police and Detectives are investigating a number of complaints of car theft and attempted car theft that were reported last weekend.  A silver Nissan Skyline was stolen overnight on Thursday night from Leopard Street Kangaroo Point.  This vehicle was involved in a motor vehicle crash in Belmont on May 26 and the driver left the scene.  He was described as Caucasian, 175cm tall, thin build, short sandy blonde hair and wearing a black T shirt.

A Hyundai Sedan was stolen overnight on Friday night from a South Brisbane car park.  Later in the night a Mitsubishi Station Wagon was stolen from the Gabba Central Car Park.  Two further attempts to steal vehicles occurred on Saturday night at Logan Road, Woolloongabba where an attempt was made on a Hyundai Sedan.  Later in the evening an attempt was made to steal a Purple Honda Civic on Thorn Street at Kangaroo Point.

In addition, four cars were broken into over the weekend at Holman Street, Lower River Terrace, River Terrace Kangaroo Point and Gabba Central with property taken.

An increase in car thefts is always of a concern to us.  We are recommending that if you own a later model car that does not have electronic ignition that you seriously consider using a club lock.
