Pawesome visit to Wishart State School

While some of you might recognise my name from my work with #ridesafely4me this year, there is another aspect of policing that I really enjoy and that is my role as the Adopt-a-Cop at the Wishart State School on the southside of Brisbane.

I strongly encourage both schools and my fellow officers to become involved in the Adopt-a-Cop program which I have been involved on and off over the last 24 years and I can’t speak highly enough of the benefits it brings to everyone involved.

I’m told that the children at Wishart have had an awesome first semester, so as a bit of a reward we asked ‘Sergeant Ash’ and ‘Constable Sam’ from the Brisbane Dog Squad to bring along some of the newest of the Police Dog Recruits; Vegas, Hutch and Candy.

They say never work with children or animals – and maybe we’ve bitten off more than we can chew-toy :).  But as you can see from the photos, it’s hard to know who enjoyed the visit more.

So from myself, Ash, Sam and everyone at Wishart State School, we wish you all a happy, enjoyable but most of all SAFE school holidays.

My job can be so ‘ruff’ sometimes.
