Dangerous driving charges, Forest Lake

Detectives and Tactical Crime officers have charged a man with multiple offences following a dangerous driving incident in Forest Lake on May 3.

It will be alleged at around 10pm police attempted to intercept a vehicle on Formation Road when the vehicle allegedly evaded officers and drove in a dangerous manner.

Police tracked the vehicle with the assistance of PolAir before deploying tyre deflation devices at the intersection of The Esplanade and Forest Lake Boulevard.

The driver fled the vehicle on Renior Crescent before taken into custody by officers following a brief scuffle.

A 32-year-old Inala man has been charged with a range of offences including one count each of burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm, driving under the influence, dangerous operation of a vehicle, going armed so as to cause fear and stealing as well as two counts of failing to stop and three counts of fraud.

The man appeared in Richlands Magistrates Court yesterday and has been remanded in custody, to reappear in Richlands Magistrates Court on May 30.
