Sexual assault, Doolandella

Police are searching for a man who broke into a home at Doolandella early this morning and sexually assaulted a woman while she slept.

Preliminary information suggests around 1.15am the man entered the residence on Numbat Place and went into a bedroom where the 55-year-old woman was sleeping.

The man then touched the woman inappropriately, causing her to wake up.

The woman yelled out and the man fled the home on foot before a car was heard driving at speed from the scene.

The woman was not physically injured.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 40-years-old with blonde hair, weathered features and was wearing a blue shirt.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the vicinity at the time of the assault to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
