Police welcome families to North Brisbane

North Brisbane Police and Liaison Officers regularly welcome newly settles families to our area.

We participate in a program called Lifeskills where we explain the role of police in Queensland as well as provide tips on driver licence requirements, road rules and provide personal safety.

The program is a valuable tool for local Police in creating a positive interaction with our newly arrived families who come from all over the world. For many families their previous experiences with Police has been less than desirable. Through these visits we show that Queensland is a wonderful and safe state with a police service they can trust.

Our most recent group of families come from Iraq, Syria, Myanmar and Ethiopia and were all grateful for our visit and eager to have their photos taken with us.

The program is run by the Multicultural Development Association out of the Zillmere Community Centre and Zillmere PCYC.
