Update: Missing boy, Highvale

A search operation is currently underway in Brisbane’s north for a 16-year-old boy reported missing from a Highvale address since Monday.

The boy  was last seen walking away from a residence on Holcombe Road at 4:50pm.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as this is out of character and he has not made contact with family or friends since.

The boy was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, long khaki cargo pants and carrying a camouflage military backpack.

Police on trail motorbikes and horseback, as well as around 40 SES personnel are involved in a large-scale ground search in the Highvale, Samford, Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo areas.

Anyone who may have seen him or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact police
