Serious traffic incident, Brisbane City

An 80-year-old man has sustained critical injuries after he was struck by a truck in Brisbane City this morning.

Preliminary investigations indicate that shortly before 11am, the 80-year-old man was crossing Adelaide Street at the intersection with Albert Street when he was struck.

The truck has also collided with a bus.

The 80-year-old man was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the truck, a 21-year-old man, was not injured and is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

No one on the bus was injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
