Armed robbery, Toowoomba

Detectives are investigating following an armed robbery at a Toowoomba convenience store this morning.

Initial investigations indicate shortly before 5am a man entered the Ruthven Street store armed with a syringe and demanded money from a staff member.

The man fled the store a short time later with a sum of cash and drove away in a red Mitsubishi lancer.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man was last seen wearing a white hooded jumper with black stripes, a black baseball cap.  He has short scruffy brown hair and a beard.

Detectives are appealing for any information that might help locate the man responsible.

Investigations are continuing.
