A prickly situation was declared in Halifax yesterday after Senior Constable Shelley Mills received a call from a local resident worried that her dog might hurt an echidna that was under her house.
Even though she was off duty, Senior Constable Mills rushed over to help and set about coordinating a very pointed search and rescue mission.
The echidna was found safe and well, and released nearby in a safe area – away from humans, vehicles and curious doggos.
Just another day in Halifax helping to keep the whole community – even the prickly ones – safe!
E-chid-(y)na, not! It’s the truth!
