Drug investigation, Taranganba

Detectives from the Yeppoon Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing their investigations into two overnight incidents in Lammermoor and Taranganba.

Around 11.45pm (June 12) police were called to a single vehicle crash on Old Scenic Highway at Lammermoor.

On arrival, two males who had been standing by the crashed vehicle ran from police, with officers apprehending a 17-year-old man soon after.

Police will allege they located drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and on the man.

Inquiries in relation to the crash and drugs led police to a property on Daffcroft Street in Taranganba at around 2.30am.

Officers located a 14-year-old boy lying unresponsive in the front yard and a further 10 teenagers inside the house that appeared to be drug affected – with ages ranging from 14 to 18.

Emergency services were called and nine people were transported to the Yeppoon Base Hospital for treatment.

It will be alleged a Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic was punched in the face twice whilst trying to treat the 14-year-old boy. The paramedic was taken to hospital for assessment.
