Attempted armed robbery, Rockville

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred in Rockville yesterday afternoon.

Around 1pm, a 70-year-old man parked his vehicle outside a Quelch Street address when a teenager approached and demanded the car keys.

The man declined and was subsequently hit with a steel bar to the head a number of times.

The man attempted to fight back when the teenager ran away with two other teenagers who were nearby.

The man sustained several lacerations to his head and was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital for treatment.

Police are looking for a male described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, approximately 18-years-old, 178cm tall with a thin build, short black hair and facial stubble.

Investigations are continuing.
