Update 2: Critical incident, death investigation, Coomera (Gold Coast)

Police are continuing their investigations following the tragic death of four people at a theme park at Coomera.

Two women, aged 42 and 32, and two men aged 38 and 35 died at the scene as a result of an incident on one of the theme parks water rides.

Initial investigations suggest that six people were on board one of the raft when it has impacted with another raft near the conclusion of the ride causing it to upturn.

Two children a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl escaped uninjured.

Police will undertake a thorough investigation and will prepare a report in relation to the incident under the direction of the State Coroner.
