Armed robbery, Lawnton

Police are investigating after a man was robbed at Lawnton last night.

Around 7.50pm, a 31-year-old man was walking along Ellis Street when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.

The armed man made demands for the man’s personal items and cigarettes. The 31-year-old man complied, and the armed man fled the scene on foot.

The 31-year-old man was not physically injured during the incident.

Police are looking for a man described as being Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 160cm tall with a medium build and black hair.

Police are appealing for anyone that may have been in the area or travelling on Ellis Street around 8pm last night to contact Crime Stoppers.

Investigations are continuing.
