Attempted armed robbery, Landsborough

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery which occurred early this morning.

At 6.45am two men entered a bakery on Cribb Street, Landsborough. One man purchased a newspaper and as the female employee opened the cash register, this man produced a knife and threatened her.

The second man stood near the front door armed with a metal bar.

The female employee has retreated to the rear of the business due to the threats.

Both men pushed past the front counter into the service area where one man has attempted to pick up the cash register and leave the store.

A male employee who was working at the rear of the business challenged both men, who then fled the store in a green/blue sedan without the cash register or any property.

Investigations are continuing.
