Police have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act in Brassall.

Just after midnight police attended an address on Galway Crescent following reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers were confronted by a man in the driveway who was making threats. The man then entered a caravan on the property and refused to leave.

The man is alone in the caravan and no one has been physically injured during the incident.

An emergent situation was declared at 3:30am and an exclusion zone is currently in place.

The exclusion zone (pictured) covers the area bounded by North High Street to Glen Ayr Drive to Galway Crescent and behind to Fernvale Road and then back to the intersection with North High Street.

Residents are asked to stay away from the area.

Police continue to negotiate with the man.
