Drug operation charges, Brisbane North

Detectives from Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch have today closed a five month drug trafficking investigation codenamed Mike Cartouche.

The investigation focused on the distribution of drugs including methyl amphetamines and cannabis in the inner Brisbane area and four search warrants were executed.

As a result of the search warrants, detectives located and seized approximately 1.75 kilograms of cannabis, cash and drug paraphernalia.

A 33-year-old Paddington man has been charged with two counts of trafficking dangerous drugs, 39 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and possessing proceeds.

He is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Three men, a 30-year-old from Jimboomba, a 32-year-old from Annerley and a 25-year-old from Paddington were also charged with possessing drugs.

Investigations are continuing with further arrests expected.
