Weapon offences, Woodridge

Police have charged a man with number of weapon related offences following an incident in Woodridge last night.

Around 10.30pm, officers were called to a Huntress Street address following reports of a man with a rifle in his possession.

It will be alleged that upon arrival, police found a man in possession of the weapon and then located ammunition nearby.

A 27-year-old Logan man was charged with one count each of going armed so as to cause fear, possession or use of a weapon under the influence of liquor or a drug, unauthorised and prohibited explosives, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M and obstruct police.

He is scheduled to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
