Watch schools and report – Police seek your help

Volunteers in Policing (VIP) from the Wynnum District have been busy visiting local schools and conducting letterbox drops to houses near schools, asking local residents to report people trespassing on school grounds during the Christmas school holidays.

While police will be conducting patrols of the schools they are seeking assistance from the community to keep the schools safe.

With school holidays already started, everyone should look out for after-hours crime in our schools. If you see anything suspicious, please don’t attempt to intervene. Call the School Watch number – 13 17 88.

School Watch aims to reduce vandalism, theft and arson in Queensland schools so let’s work together to help create a safer school community. Damage to schools results in substantial costs and disruption for students, teachers and the general community.

If you witness suspicious activity at any time day or night, contact School Watch 13 17 88 or your local police station 24 hrs a day.

To report non-urgent matters Think Policelink and call 131 444.  If the matter is urgent dial Triple Zero (000).

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or 24hrs a day.

Crime Stoppers is a registered charity and community volunteer organisation working in partnership with the Queensland Police Service.

For all non-urgent police reporting or general police inquiries contact Policelink on 131 444 or 24hrs a day.
