Lock it up, don’t risk losing it

Remember the days when everyone left their houses unlocked and their keys in their car because everyone knows everyone and nothing ever happens around here. If you’re reading this and still do this, stop it. Barcaldine Police are urging the community to lock it or lose it after an increase in property offences. Here are some top residential and vehicle safety tips.

Tips for the home:
1 – Lock it up;
2 – Put security screens on your windows;
3 – Install exterior sensor lights;
4 – Get an alarm… or a Rottweiler; and
5 – Don’t leave things around the yards, they may assist the offender break into your house.

Tips for your vehicle:
1 – Don’t leave your keys in it;
2 – Lock it up;
3 – Don’t leave your valuables visible;
4 – Get an alarm; and
5 – Park it in a well-lit area.
