Tuesday, October 4 marked the official opening of the long awaited Redcliffe Peninsular Line, with six new railway stations open on the CityTrain network.
An open day was held on Monday for local residents to try-out the new line, with services running between the six stations.
Special guests, including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and local Mayor Allan Sutherland, were present to open the line and were passengers on the very first train out of Kippa-Ring Railway Station.
Railway Squad officers were also present at each station to assist with the festivities.
The Railway Squad welcomes all the new passengers travelling on the Redcliffe Peninsular line and will be out and about conducting patrols of all new stations. Make sure you come and say g’day.
