May is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
The theme this year is ‘Not Now Not Ever – Not in our Neighbourhood’
A new initiative this year is a flag that will be displayed outside of all Pine Rivers Patrol Group Police Stations, Strathpine Police Beat and Bray Park PCYC for the month of May.
Local partner agencies will also be at the display to talk with people about domestic violence.
A PRADO (Partnership Response At Domestic Occurrences) caseworker works with us and assists people who are affected by domestic and family violence. PRADO aims to enhance their safety, offer the family and their children support, provide information and referrals to perpetrators of domestic and family violence, improve the wellbeing and the safety of the children and the their families, and reduce the risk or neglect by assisting children and their families.
Police and local services will be at Albany Creek on May 16, with support and information near Coles supermarket corner of Albany Creek Road and Wruck Crescent.
