Sunday September 25, saw the Queensland Mounted Police Unit (QMPU) hold an Open Day at their complex located in Moggill.
The event was in conjunction with the Queensland Police Museum and saw approximately 150 invited guests attend.
Guests had the opportunity to see a behind the scenes look at the complex and were detailed the QMPU’s horse management practises. They observed demonstrations on troop horse training which detailed how the troop horses are kept fit, work ready and also trained to remain calm in an operational environment.
The guests also had an opportunity to interact with the horses and staff in an up-close meet and greet. A
great day was had by all and we are hopeful that a similar event will be run next year.
The QMPU would like to thank the Queensland Police Museum, attending recruits and members of the Public Safety Response Team for helping make the day a success.
