Redcliffe and District Woodcraft Society

Superintendent David Tucker and Sergeant Jo Broughton had the pleasure of being guests at the Woodcraft Centre at Redcliffe this week.  The Redcliffe and District Woodcraft Society generously donated toys to the Redcliffe Police which were given to children in the Redcliffe Hospital Children’s Ward and the Paediatric Outpatients during Christmas time last year.

During their visit to the centre they met the ‘toy makers’ of the society whom, along with the toys made for the toy drive, make in excess of 1000 toys a year which are distributed to hospitals, charities and other organisations across the country.  These hard working dedicated volunteers make the toys from scratch – from the tree which is donated by local foresters to the end product being a doll’s cradles, cars, bikes, you name it they make it!

We thank you again so much for the work you do in the community to brighten the lives of our children and for taking time out to chat to us during your busy wood making session.  Here are some photos of the Toy drive and presentation to the Woodcraft Society.
