Attempted robbery with violence, Scarness

Police are investigating the attempted robbery of two men in Scarness last night.

Around 11.30pm, a 17-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were walking along Torquay Road when they were approached by another man.

The man demanded the two others hand over their mobile phones, but they refused.

The man threatened them with a knife, causing a small cut to the 18-year-old’s hand, before fleeing the scene empty-handed.

The 18-year-old attended Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment.

Investigations are continuing.
