When TV comes to life, North Mackay

Imagine the irony of this situation – a resident is up late at home watching a TV show (likely a crime show) when a crime occurs in the room they are watching the crime show in!

This is exactly what happened to a resident in High Street, North Mackay at 10.45pm on May 17.

The resident had earlier smoked a cigarette in their back yard, they intended to have another cigarette prior to going to bed – so they left the rear back door closed but unlocked. Our burglar wanna-be has entered the home through the closed but unlocked door.

As the resident was seated watching TVa noise has caused them to look up and they have seen the burglar (only metres away) quickly running outside in possession of a stolen wallet and it’s contents. The wallet was dropped in the back yard as the burglar made good their escape.
