Commissioner Ian Stewart today announced the appointment of two new assistant commissioners to the Queensland Police Service.
Commissioner Stewart congratulated the officers on their promotions from the rank of chief superintendent.
“I look forward to working with these experienced and professional officers in their new roles with the QPS executive leadership team.
“Both officers have worked across a range of challenging portfolios and bring a wealth of experience to their roles,” Commissioner Stewart said.
Assistant Commissioner Shane Chelepy has been appointed to lead the Community Contact Command.
He will replace Assistant Commissioner Paul Stewart who has been reassigned to the People Capability Command.
Mr Chelepy was most recently the District Officer for South Brisbane District.
Assistant Commissioner Allan McCarthy has been appointed to lead the Organisational Capability Command.
This position was vacated by the promotion of Deputy Commissioner Peter Martin in July.
Mr McCarthy was most recently the chief superintendent at Ethical Standards Command.
“The Queensland Police Service has an exceptional leadership team and I am confident these new appointments will add to this depth and diversity in leadership to guide the organisation well into the future,” Commissioner Stewart said.
