Sexual assault, Maroochydore

Police have released a computer-generated image of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries into a sexual assault in Maroochydore this morning.

Around 2.15am, a woman left a licensed premises on Ocean Street and walked into a nearby alleyway.

There she was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation before assaulting her.

She managed to push the man away and attempted to walk back towards Ocean Street but was again grabbed by the man.

He fled the scene after she managed to break away from his grip.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, of a proportionate build, in his mid-20s and with short brown hair and stubble.

He was wearing a white shirt, jeans and spoke with a German accent.

Police would like to speak with anyone who may have been in Ocean Street at the time of the assault.
