Attempted murder charge, Warner

Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder following an incident in Warner on March 26.

It will be alleged at around 9pm a man administered a drug to a woman at a Curlew Court address, before attempting to suffocate her.

Police will further allege after a struggle the woman managed to escape to a nearby residence and call police.

The man and the woman were known to each other.

A 41-year-old man from Warner later handed himself in to the Maroochydore Police Station where he was taken into custody.

He has been charged with one count each of attempted murder and administering a stupefying drug with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today, March 28.
