Assault occasioning bodily harm, Brisbane City

Police have charged a man following an assault in Brisbane City early this morning.

It will be alleged that around 2.40am, two men were involved in a verbal altercation outside a kebab shop on George Street between Elizabeth Street and the Queen Street Mall.

A 28-year-old man was allegedly pushed to the ground and struck multiple times to the face and head.

He was treated by paramedics for a cut to his head and a nose injury before being transported to hospital.

A 23-year-old Spring Hill man was taken into custody and issued with a banning notice for the Brisbane Safe Night Precinct.

He has been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and obstruct police and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on April 12.
