Update: Unarmed robbery, Deception Bay

Detectives have charged a man following investigations into an alleged robbery in Deception Bay last year.

It will be alleged on September 21, 2015, a man entered a residence in Sarah Court via a garage door.

A 74-year-old male resident of the premises disturbed the intruder who then ran back through the garage and into the resident’s car, which was parked outside.

Police will further allege a struggle ensued during which the man stepped out of the car and punched the 74-year-old man in the face before fleeing the scene with his wallet and car keys.

A 30-year-old Chermside man has been charged with one count each of robbery with personal violence, attempted unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter dwelling with intent and six counts of fraud.

He is due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on April 27.
