Police are investigating a serious traffic crash this afternoon in Esk that has left a motorcycle rider with serious injuries.
At around 12.30pm, a male motorcyclist was travelling on the Esk Hampton Road toward Esk when it is believed that he hit a rock on the road.
At this point, the rider left the road and came to a stop down an embankment.
Assisted by the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, the man was retrieved and transported via helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The road, near the site of the crash, was closed for a period of time but has since reopened.
There is no further information available at this stage. Investigations are continuing.
