Shots fired, Nerang

A 51-year-old woman is currently assisting police with investigations after reports of shots being fired during a verbal altercation at an address in Nerang.

Preliminary investigations indicate that around 11.15am a 37-year-old man attended a Riverview Road address where he was involved in an argument with the female resident. The altercation escalated and it is believed the woman produced a gun and shots were fired.

The woman drove away in her vehicle prior to police arrival. She was detained by police a short time later on Springbrook Road, Mudgeeraba.

No one was injured during the incident and no weapon has been located at this stage. The man the woman are known to each other.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
