Assault and weapons charges, Nerang

A 51-year-old woman has been charged after allegations of shots being fired during an altercation in Nerang.

Police will allege that around 11.15am the woman drove to a Riverview Road address where she was involved in an argument with a 37-year-old male resident, produced a gun and fired a number of shots at the residence.

The woman allegedly drove away in her vehicle prior to police arrival. She was detained by police a short time later on Springbrook Road, Mudgeeraba.

No one was injured during the incident. The man the woman are known to each other.

The 51-year-old Springbrook woman has been charged with three counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, unlawful possession of a weapon and discharge a weapon in a public place. She is due to appear in the Southport Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
